Candler Park

Candler Park is one of Atlanta's largest, oldest and most beloved city parks. Its 55 acres of scenic green space support a range of important uses.

The Park features a number of ecosystems and serves as an in-town habitat for native flora and fauna from specimen southern red oaks to red tail hawks. In recent years, the Park's re-naturalized wetlands area has even come to host keystone species such as beavers.

The Park also hosts a broad array of sports leagues, food, music and neighborhood festivals and other special events, and boasts a unique range of recreational amenities for the use and enjoyment of the surrounding community including:

  • Candler Park Golf Course & Club House;
  • Multipurpose Fields;
  • Pool & Pool House;
  • Basketball Courts;
  • Tennis Courts;
  • Playground; and
  • Picnic Pavilions.

Candler Park is owned, managed and maintained by the City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation.  For convenience of reference, our website contains selected information about Candler Park and its amenities, including location, hours and applicable rules and contacts, on the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page.

Candler Park has a rich and diverse history. After almost a century, this history continues to inform and inspire the work of the Conservancy
