Trail Maintenance & Planting
As part of Atlanta’s ‘Love Your Park Month’ and with the help of over 60 volunteers, we made major improvements to an underused path in a forested pocket of Candler Park at the headwaters of Lullwater Creek.

Concrete Planters Repurposed
There were two empty concrete blocks in beautiful locations in the park, though the squares were an eyesore and unmaintained. With the help of over 20 volunteers, we repurposed them into a picnic area and viewing overlook, installing a picnic table and bench, removing weeds, adding slate, and painting.

Amy Erwin Memorial Garden Refresh
The Amy Erwin Memorial Garden honors Amy, a beloved friend, neighbor, and leader of the Candler Park Conservancy. We updated her memorial garden by cleaning the stones, planting hardy native plants, improving drainage, and mulching

Upper Pavilion Refresh
The upper pavilion hosts numerous community meetings, birthday parties, cookouts, and meetups. The ground was often muddy, making it unusable. We refreshed the pavilion by weeding and pruning, adding a slate chip ground cover, and cleaning the grill.

Culvert Clearing
The culvert running between Freedom Park and the Candler Park Golf Course was blocked with downed trees and debris. We cleared and drained the culvert to reduce flooding and keep the water moving.
